French composer Alexandre Desplat is once again working for British captain Stephen Frears. His score for Frears' The Queen dowager resulted in an Oscar nomination and numerous other awards and nominations. Their new sheet is called Cheri, and given the composer's wilderness of origin the story should fit like a glove: it's a fictitious drama set in Paris in the 1920s. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathy Bates and Rupert Mistress, the film is based on a controversial unconventional by Colette. Miramax and Pathe will divide up, release date to be determined. Alexandre Desplat's other upcoming films list David Fincher's The Curious Occurrence of Benjamin Button and French demeanour adventure Largo Winch.
